A Plot

To me, these Sonnets show a man of low social status immortalising in verse a beautiful young man (FYM) of the highest social status. The FYM steals the poets (P) mistress, the passionate and cruel Dark Lady (DL). The poet is heart broken, made worse when the fine young man employs another poet to sing his praises. Our Poet scorns the rival poet (RP), convinced his love for the FYM is stronger than the RP verse. The Poet's final message shows his ability to surpass his physical being, and unite his emotion and intellect by tying them to his intuition.

"If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved." Q116
